Job: Digital Content Producer

Fun Kids is a children’s media brand that uses a variety of platforms to reach children and their families. As well as broadcasting nationwide on DAB Digital Radio, it has a fully featured website, mobile app, 100 podcast channels and seven YouTube channels delivering 3m views a month.

We’re looking for someone who loves creating digital content to join the team to deliver the online material for our partnership activity.

We work with commercial and education partners to deliver content across all of our platforms. This can range from creating a page for an advertiser’s competition to developing a microsite and YouTube channel for one of our learning series alongside an educational partner.

You’ll be working with our sales and programming teams to create and deliver this material to their specification but with your ideas.

For our learning series you’ll also arrange any occasional activity that we need to do outside of the office. This could be a workshop at a school or a training session with partner staff. You’ll project manage this activity with our presenters and team and be responsible for the delivery.

The kind of person we’re after is someone who’s creative, organised and has strong digital skills. You should be someone who can create error-free written copy and can use Photoshop to build great artwork that combines third party assets with your imagination. You won’t need to be a coder, but any developer skills are an advantage.

We’re also after someone who’s ambitious and loves a challenge. At Fun Kids we’re a small team that delivers big things. You’ll be strongly supported by your colleagues but creative, self-starters will fit in well.

Who are you?

You might be a recent graduate who spent all of their time at University doing extra curricular projects. You might be someone working in a different sector creating digital content or you may already be at a radio station and keen to work for a more interesting one and develop your skills!

Skills

  • Good Microsoft Office skills – happy using Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc
  • Strong Photoshop skills (ie will spend a lot more time using Photoshop than looking up how to use it!)
  • Good Adobe Creative Suite skills – comfortable using Premier, spent some time with Audition etc
  • Familiar using content management systems – we use WordPress, it would be great if you’ve used it before
  • Experience of third-party content distribution places – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, iTunes, Omny etc
  • Good inter-personal skills – you’ll be good working with others and being an ambassador for Fun Kids
  • An interest in radio, the media and/or kids content

What you’ll get

You’ll get to work in our Shoreditch office and Holborn studios where you’ll be fed a constant supply of confectionary and tea (some of which you’ll make).

We’re a small company that does lots things. As well as Fun Kids, we run MuxCo – a digital radio multiplex network, we make radio shows for the BBC and work on special projects for broadcasters around the world.
