Folder Media Production’s first project for BBC Radio 1Xtra was a commission for a one hour documentary on young people and their relationship with the Police.
The Sound of the Police was an authored journey which saw Boya Dee exploring how the negative impacts of policing strategies such Stop and Search have defined the image of the Police for a whole generation of young people like him. He wanted to find out whether the initiatives put in place by the Police to win back the trust of this group was working.
With contributions from the Metropolitan, Greater Manchester and Nottinghamshire Police, pupils as the Norwood School, Police Cadets, the Chelsea FC Kickz programme and many more it was a rich listening experience with a wealth of often hard hitting opinion.
